Pew Research Center: U.S. Image Suffers as Publics Around World Question Trumps Leadership

Although he has only been in office a few months, Donald Trump’s presidency has had a major impact on how the world sees the United States. Trump and many of his key policies are broadly unpopular around the globe, and ratings for the U.S. have declined steeply in many nations. According to a new Pew Research Center survey spanning 37 nations, a median of just 22% has confidence in Trump to do the right thing when it comes to international affairs. This stands in contrast to the final years of Barack Obama’s presidency, when a median of 64% expressed confidence in Trump’s predecessor to direct America’s role in the world.

The only other country where a higher percentage trust Trump more than Obama? Israel.

I can only guess that Trump and his scaly pit of snakes intend to rely on massive voter suppression and gerrymandering (USSC about to declare that fully legal as long as it helps Republicans) to keep them in power. Without that they haven't a snowball's chance in the pit of Hell.

What are they questioning?
Is it (a) a Major disaster; (b) is it a calamitous disaster? or (c) is it a disaster of Biblical-epic proportions?
Because that's the only way I can see anyone questioning his leadership

Global Opinion of Obama Slips, International Policies Faulted

Global approval of President Barack Obama’s policies has declined significantly since he first took office, while overall confidence in him and attitudes toward the U.S. have slipped modestly as a consequence.

He also didn't tell everyone how terrible things were, and how the world didn't think much of us. The resident did, and now things are worse.

I think your comparison is apples to oranges, because it lacks context.

Take a look at the records for US presidents going back to 2001 - 3rd page here (numbered '59'): http://assets.pewresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2017/06/26170737/PG_2017.06.26_US-Image-Report_Appendix-A-Detailed-Tables.pdf

These are the first figures for Trump as president. While Obama's figure generally declined slightly during his presidency, though recovered towards the end, Trump has started off at record lows, way below the figures Obama got.

The comparison shows a much more significant drop with respect to Trump in terms of world opinion and only a slight one for Obama.

There was also a sharp decline in global opinion of the US from 2000 to 2008, which I think can largely be attributed to the policies of Obama's predecessor.

Three fourths of the world have no confidence in Trump.

I wrote them to say that if one eliminates people who think the world is 6000 years old, people who think there is a great future in coal mining, and people who think medical care for others is a bad idea, then 3/4 of Americans would feel the same way.
