TPM: Ryan: CBO Is Important, But More To The Story Than Coverage Numbers

These people are absolute monsters who have no idea what public service means. How do you draft a health care bill without making the provision of quality, affordable coverage your #1 goal?

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) expressed confidence in the director of the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office on Tuesday, but noted that “there’s more to the story” than the dramatic drop in insurance coverage that the CBO estimated would result from Senate Republicans’ Obamacare repeal bill.

At a press briefing Tuesday, a reporter asked Ryan if he had confidence in CBO Director Keith Hall.

“Yeah, he is actually a Republican appointee,” Ryan said. “If I’m not mistaken, Tom Price appointed him.”

“Look, I have always had my own complaints about methodologies and score keeping,” he continued. “We all have our preferences and our opinions on these things. But it is important that we have a scorekeeper. We can always complain about the nature of the score. I think their coverage numbers — there’s more to the story than what the number implies. But having said that, it’s important that we have a referee.”

But let's talk about those juicy tax cuts for me and my wealthy pals. Wait; let's not. Let's talk about some unspecified "more to the story" item that lets me and my friends in the Senate off the hook for condemning thousands upon thousands of people to a premature death.

and the bill does NOTHING to address out-of-control health care costs. Basically, their bill does almost nothing to address their mostly false criticisms of ACA and everything it does makes things worse, not better. It is basically the "Upside Down" version of ACA

How convenient, Paulie. Your opinion is that the numbers don't matter. Not a different analysis, just your opinion. Smug idiot.

Paul Ryan received his Degree in Economics free from one of the best Colleges courtesy of the Survivor Clause in the Social Security Rules.

Like Scott Walker, who attended College under the same Rule,I got mine F---You. Met so many A-Holes whom were able to take advantage this leg up after the Tragic Death of their family head, and turn around and critize others who used this same events to do go for others.

I don't even mean a trip to the ER, but something like diabetes or cancer? The only way it's relevant that somebody decided to not have insurance is if we leave them to suffer and/or die from it.

If we don't turn them away, we still have to pay for it. Unless Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump are fine with those people dying. Otherwise it's disingenuous to say the people would be choosing to do without insurance.
