Good for him! But it would have been gratifying if some of the other weenie reporters sitting in that room being patronized and scolded by that idiot Huckleberry would have chimed in and agreed with him. Just one or two would have been encouraging. There is this man and Acosta that seem to push back and all the others just sit there shaking their heads with incredulous looks on their faces rolling their eyes.

There needs to be back bone in these reporters dealing with these consummate liars.

with an edge to his voice. I thought, "What's this? A reporter with spine, with gumption?" I actually yelled out...IT'S ABOUT TIME. Huckabee was almost stuttering she seemed so taken aback. Took her a moment to regain her composure. I just laughed. It did my heart good to see Miss Priss get a verbal smack down. She deserved that and I, too, was hoping some of the others sitting there would pile on. Oh, well, maybe next time!

How rare and unexpected they were. In a properly functioning democracy, this sort of press push-back would be a feature of every news conference. Just another indication of how far this country has fallen, and how quickly it has all happened.

Thank you, Brian Karem. Keep up the good work, as long as you are able to.

The corporate-owned "liberal media" omits and distorts information frequently, and they've demonstrated a lack of courage in pushing against government agendas repeatedly. They're just not near as dishonest as right-wing media.

His main examples are related to foreign policy, when truth is sacrificed for a pro-USA bias, but it happens over domestic issues too.

Noam Chomsky has said that liberals in this country tend to provide a boundary for debate -- "This far and no farther!" I think it's true. Whether someone agrees with Chomsky's political ideals or not, and I do not, he's extremely educational. Much of what he describes comes across as kooky because it's so infrequently mentioned elsewhere, but it's backed up by sources! He's a scientist, not a conspiracy nut.

There was another diary on Daily Kos today that was interesting in that it was about how just one person standing up and challenging something can make a difference because it opens the way for others. Let's hope that Brian Karem has opened the doors to other reporters pushing back more on the lies of the Trump Administration and on the spokespeople who push those lies.

is what I would like every member of the White House Press Corp to ask the current spokes people every few days.

Some of them could even cite easily identified lies from the previous day as a preface for that question. Another, question would simple be "Why should we believe you?"

I've watch press briefings for every president since LBJ and I've never seen any White House lie so consistently or obviously until the Kremlin Klan took over.

it is really good. At first I thought it would be sort of fluff and related to the whole Hulk Hogan and Gawker deal, but it is much more than that.

The press really needs to stand up and be VERY loud right now. They need to stick together and remember their role and not let the WH be so controlling.

In an age where we see all kinds of everyday videos, we certainly deserve and need to know what is going on in the WH.

He kind of said he thinks the press need to have each other's back when dealing with this lying administration, but it's dog eat dog out there and he said they often times don't. Which is a shame. I know the success comes from having access or getting the story or scoop before anyone else. But this is a different beast and they should coalesce and work to expose these lying assholes and support each other as free speech entity.

That's why any reporter who speaks out against them seems to stand alone.
