It is unwise to ever trust a liar.

Because you can never know when they are lying or when they are being truthful? It is a gamble that never ends well. This is something all Trump supporters should learn, before it is too late. Eventually, he will stab you in the back.

However, I know that his supporters will never listen to any warnings. They have bet the farm on Donald Trump, even though they knew all about his character before they made the decision to support him. They know he is a liar. They have chosen to believe that he is a liar but that he is better than any other alternative that they had. In the beginning, they lied to themselves.

Not just why they lie, but also how they lie. Trump is a very clumsy and stupid liar. nt tblue37 Jun 2017 #3

lies come in many forms, and for many purposes, and to some extent all politicians lie.

the question is *why* do they lie, what are they trying to achieve with a lie?

many people want a president who can lie skillfully to other countries in order to get the best result for america.

among the many problems with benedict donald is that he's shown no particular loyalty to america, americans, his own voters, or really, anyone besides himself and some members of his immediate family. so we can't count on him to lie for us, he's only going to lie for himself.

moreover, his lies aren't the skillful variety that get good deals done. his lies are the kind that, if they work at all, they leave the victim feeling betrayed and bilked. that works fine for a businessman in an industry awash in small suppliers eager to line up to be his next victim, but it fails miserably on the world stage where everyone can see how he treats everyone else, and you can't burn country after country and figure you'll never see them again.

(ex-husband) that when finally burned enough, they will get the message. It's easy to ignore things that don't involve you. It's another thing when the lie affects you deeply.
