Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsJust talked to Oregon assistant SOS about Kobach voter fraud data request. This is heartening!
I just got off the phone with the assistant to the OR SOS about the Kobach voter data request. The SOS is away from the capitol right now but they are all over it, and he said they will have a decision hopefully by the end of the day. I don't know which way he will go; he is a Republican, but this is a blue state with a lot of activists.
The good news is he said they are getting LOTS of calls, all from people who feel the same way I do which is NO WAY! I didn't even have to explain; as soon as I mentioned Kris Kobach, he stopped me and said, "I already know why you are calling." And told me they were getting lots of calls on it. And this only just happened today, so people are paying attention to this and letting their voices be heard.
I will update this when I learn more, hopefully later today. I hope Rachel covers this tonight.

(6,932 posts)We're still hopefull as can be that Trump will take Brownback off our hands, last thing we need is Kobach in 2018.
Wichita Eagle article:
"Kobach asked the Connecticut secretary of states office to provide the commission with all publicly available voter roll data, including the full names of all registered voters along with their addresses, dates of birth, the last four digits of their Social Security numbers, VOTING HISTORY and other personal information.
Kobach said in a phone call that he sent similar letters to election officials in every state and that as Kansas top election official he will be providing the commission with all of the information for Kansas voters."

The Elections Division is encouraging people to send comments there. I also called back and left a VM for Sec. Richardson. 503-986-1523
Their fax number is 503-986-1616.

(7,754 posts)released to Kobach. I made it plain there were 5 voters just in my household and many more among my friends who will be perfectly willing to sue. Nowhere in the voting agreement I signed with the State of Oregon does it say that I agree to have my private information Name, Soc Soc, what party I am registered with, etc., etc., etc. released to any other entity and we will all to be too happy to make a huge ruckus,
The young woman told me they had had lots of calls and was very pleased I had called. She said they were asking for information that it is not legal for the State of Oregon to share and I told her that as far as I was concerned it is not legal for the state of Oregon to share any information with Chris Kobach, who is not an elected official.
Let the suits begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (She actually seemed to think that was a good idea without telling me to go out there and start a law suit)
