(language alert!)

This shit is worse than Honey Boo Boo, DuckFuckers Whatsis and Real Housewives of Alabama. Once again, ashamed of my country because of HIM.

But I am. I'll take the time to remember how impossible the odds were against us even forming a nation to begin with. I mean, things were pretty bleak at Valley Forge.

As George Washington says in Hamilton (the musical, of course):

"Son, we are outgunned,
Outmanned,
Outnumbered,
Outplanned..."

Or, as he actually wrote:

"It will not be believed that such a force as Great Britain has employed for eight years in this Country could be baffled… by numbers infinitely less, composed of men oftentimes half starved, always in Rags, without pay, and experiencing, at times, every species of distress which human nature is capable of undergoing.”

What those men and women built, we can re-build; I really believe it.
(Although, being no Pollyanna, I admit I do sometimes despair.)
