Depending on what he can tell the investigators, he should be able to mostly escape punishment with a sentence of two years or less? He should understand that this is the best deal he is going to get.
How much does he know? Judging from what we have learned since he was fired as National Security Adviser to Trump, he knows a lot.
Does he know about Trump's business connections? Probably so.
Does he know of any communications between Donald Trump and the Russians? Probably so?
Did he make any deals for Donald Trump when he was working on his campaign? Probably so.
Should the Special Counsel continue digging until he gets to the bottom of the investigation ad make sure his net is big enough to catch all those involved?
Or should he get enough evidence to indict Donald Trump and leave it in the hands of the US Senate and try to rid our country of this terribly dark cloud that covers us all?

(4,288 posts)We shall see. Mueller is really playing his cards close to the vest. That's a good sign.

(13,485 posts)It's Flynn who has the biggest sworn vendetta against Obama and has been working on it for a long time. He'd trash the US for his own gratification just as much as Trump would; he's just a little smarter.

(14,167 posts)I hope not. Let him squirm a little longer under the threat of multiple indictments.
No deal unless it leads to one of the principal three: Trump, Kushner, and/or Bannon. I'd accept Kushner and Bannon because they are the ones running policy and if we take them out, the Trump ship will be rudderless.

(111,110 posts)It wears on people. It is stressful for many.
It would make a lot of people feel better if they could just go ahead and resolve the matter. However, Maybe they don't yet have the evidence?
It calls for a lot of patience from the American people, in my opinion. There are way too many secrets. We know very little more now, than when this investigation began.
I have never felt comfortable with permitting one man to make the final decision. Mueller may be the most competent and fair individual, but I still do not like the idea. I would much rather he report to a Commission of some sort.

The most important conversation occurring in Washington is the one between Flynn's lawyer @robkelner and Bob Mueller.
