Confused Elderly Man Wanders Away From His Limousine, Remains In Control Of Nuclear WeaponsElderly rich white man gets confused about where his transportation is, kind young man shows him where to go and he safely returns home. Oh, did I mention that "elderly man" is Donald Trump? And that this isn't the first time he got confused and wandered off...same thing happened in Israel in May. Oh, and in April he wandered away from an executive order signing ceremony *before* signing the orders.
Just a reminder - this elderly, confused, utterly lost man remains in control of the largest military in the world and the nuclear codes.

Repukes cannot and will not exercise the judgment to end this before something terrible happens.

Her caregiver had stepped out the house to buy food and my mother decide she needed to cook dinner.

(3,473 posts)I'm sorry to hear that. I went through something similar with my grandmother. When she had a stroke, she didn't lose any motor skills, but she did get vascular dementia. On top of not remembering things, she had this loss of fear so we were worried about her burning herself or falling down stairs. We said she was like living a second childhood with her playfullness. A relative lived with her for the rest of her life ... because we feared similiar things that you did.

If it weren't for the spray tan and the ridiculous hair style, we'd be looking at a typical aging grandfather who hasn't taken very good care of himself.

Obama understood The Constitution. He knew the presidency was designed to be the weakest leg of the triad. (And for good reason...the Founding Fathers weren't dumb.) Trump thinks he yields unlimited, unquestioned, and absolute power, because he DOESN'T understand how our government works. What's wrong with his family? They get to wield the power while he rants and tweets. They were raised to be unfeeling and power hungry, so as long as he's wandering around in his bathrobe and yelling at the TV behind the scenes, they're going to be fine with it. As long as he's in office, they have power which they will use for no other reason than to enrich themselves further. Because they're as corrupt as he is, plain and simple.

(13,431 posts)His base loves him. They couldn't care less about other Republicans. If Republicans oust him, then his base will turn on them. They will either back other candidates during primaries or they will sit out general elections. Current Republicans in DC lose in both scenarios.
Not only that but there is the very real possibility that one or more members of his fanatical base respond with violence.
45 and Pence both need to go, be it via resignation or by Mueller, or in the case of 45, his health. Impeachment or 25th Amendment removal are never going to happen, not with these Republicans in charge.

No reasonable explanation for him to just walk past the car like that.

(2,966 posts)I think he's beginning to fake some sort of senility. That way, if and when the impeachment question gets more serious, he can step down well ahead of time with mental issues as an excuse - thus preemptively manipulating all future analyses of the end of his presidency into something more benign than it actually is.
With all hostility set aside, I really believe he's got mental issues that seem to be manifesting themselves more and more.

Not this one. All his business and kid's business will tank from that humiliation.
And they all know it so they'll do everything they can to cover for him.
If it gets too bad they might fake a heart attack or something to give him an out because of his health, but dementia will never be admitted.

(5,591 posts)state is openly obvious every single day of this nightmare, the genuine terror comes from the layer and levels of "saner" people enabling his treason, treachery and totally criminal and immoral behavior.
In their driven obsessions for power and possession of more money than god to die with, the likes of Pence McConnell Ryan and the fucking Republican Congress are the biggest domestic terrorists in the country.
And the Cretin supporters are a billious cult of anti-humanity and the very worst of America.
