The metadata of the document showed that it was created AFTER Reality Winner was arrested, but BEFORE the Intercept published it. That eliminates random Reddit / alt-right types. The potential suspects are either high level government officials or a rogue pro-Trump person connected to the Intercept? Perhaps Bannon, Trump Jr, Kushner?

If I remember correctly, the Bush campaign never denied it but instead "bloggers" suddenly "discovered" the typeface spacing. It allowed them to discredit the story entirely without denying or refuting the content of it.

This is about the NSA contractor in Georgia, Reality Winner, who leaked a classified document to The Intercept. When The Intercept asked the NSA to validate the document, they were able to trace the document to a specific printer, which led to who it was that made the copy.

The same pattern of barely visible dots that identified the NSA document appeared on the documents sent anonymously to RMS. They got it the same week the Intercept published the Winner documents, but before Winner was arrested. The RMS forged document seems to be from a document that was not yet available!

There are a few typos and weird spacing and other oddities, and, most importantly, it names an American citizen in the Trump campaign - which would not appear in a real NSA report. Sounds a lot like the Dan Rather incident back in '04 - an apparent attempt to discredit a reputable reporter and it completely spiked the Bush story, which might have been true.
