In G20 Photo, Trump Couldn't Shove His Way to the Front and Center of World Leaders

We all know that President Donald Trump likes to get prime position in any photo opportunity. On his first visit to Europe in May, he appeared to shove the prime minister of Montenegro aside in order to get to the front of the pack of world leaders, providing yet another viral sensation for the internet.

Unfortunately for Trump, he was unable to use the same tactics in Hamburg Friday as he posed for his first G20 photo. Instead, Trump was left on the outside looking in, to the far right of the group, only prevented from being on the very outer limits by French President Emmanuel Macron, who made a late move to stand next to the American leader.

While it certainly would have been interesting, any attempts by Trump to ensure a more prime position in the shot likely would have proven futile. There are complex protocols that go into determining the positions of the world leaders in the official photo but it primarily comes down to how long they have been in office.

Thus, Trump, who only entered the White House in January, was on the outskirts, with Macron, who became French president in May, to the outside of him. On the other side of the shot was South Korea’s newly elected leader, Moon Jae-In.

I think Macron probably loved standing next to trump. It was a perfect opportunity to poke him with a stick again.

By every outward statement and appearance, Macron hates trump, on an intellectual and visceral level, and I'm sure Macron loves opportunities like this to taunt him in one-on-one situations.

That makes it look like the media does indeed have it in for Trump.

There was no evidence provided of any attempt by Trump to move from his position in the photo.

I don't understand crap like this, seriously.

First, why shouldn't they? Trump has long ago taken the gloves off when it comes to the press despite the billions in free advertising he got from them in the primaries and election cycle.

Second, if you do not realize that trump would try to do something to the press like Poland has you are kidding yourself. I will be shocked if he doesn't try it before it's all done.

More specifically, trump made it news when he pushed the prime minister of Montenegro out of the way to ensure he got in the center for the photo at the NATO summit. After that, how he acts and what he has done in these situations in the past, are news worthy.

What a president does and says matters and trump has barely reaped the whirlwind for the things he has said and done. The press isn't half as hard on him as they could be because now he is president. Hopefully Mueller will and we will be done with this idiot.

just validates Trumps rants against the 'unfair media' and 'fake news' in his mind and the minds of his supporters.

It's completely unnecessary. Isn't there enough real crap to report on?? So frustrating.

Most people won't know what the rules are as to who stands where. They'll think that Trump is being marginalized.

Perception is everything.

Fuck Trump.
