Anyone who believes that Trump pressed Putin on his interference in our election might be interested in buying the Brooklyn Bridge for five hundred bucks. Its a great deal but if you have any misgivings, Rex Tillerson will be more than happy to assure you its all on the up-and-up and youd be a fool to let this incredible bargain slip through your fingers.
Lets be serious, folks. Had Putins first words to Trump been, Yes, of course I hacked your election, we would never know about it. What we DO know is that Idiot Boy lives in fear that his illegitimate pResidency will eventually be proven to be exactly that a result of hacking by an adversarial foreign power whose goal was putting an incompetent, easily-manipulated dumbass in the White House.
Given that, there was no way in hell Trump would ever pressure Putin to admit to the very thing that Idiot Boy doesnt want to know the very thing that would destroy his all-consuming ego, the very thing he has made a point of repeatedly dismissing as fake news.
By (yet again) throwing our intelligence community under the bus in the 24 hours leading up to their meeting, Trump openly assured Putin that his denials of meddling were already anticipated and would clearly be accepted without question because they ARE on the same side on this issue, after all.
Ive no doubt that Trumps opening salvo was, Some people are saying that your interference put me in the Oval Office but thats not true, right? And thats assuming the topic was even raised in the first place, which is given that Trump is a proven pathological liar doubtful at best.
So Mister Art of the Deal Trump scores again, selling out his own country while choosing instead to protect what he desperately needs to believe that he won the pResidency fair-and-square, without assistance from Russians determined to undermine our nations democracy.
Needless to say, the Republican media whores are out in force tonight, praising their pResident for his ability to get along with Putin and undoubtedly grateful that no cameras were there to capture Trump fellating the man who handed him the US presidency, while agreeing between sucks-and-swallows that any accusations of tampering with our electoral process were youll forgive the expression overblown.
What comes or cums, as the case may be out of todays Trump-Putin meeting is the undeniable fact that the alleged pResident of the United States can add spineless to his already substantial list of failings not only as the so-called pOTUS, but as an American citizen.
As far as Trump is concerned, all is well. If the Russians continue to interfere in our elections, its no big deal. If our democracy is undermined, its no big deal. If our intelligence agencies have undeniable proof that Russians tampered with our electoral process and will continue to do so in future its no big deal.
The man spouting this bullshit is the shit-head the GOP is desperate to prop-up as the ultimate deal-maker. THIS is the traitor the Republicans are promoting as a patriot. THIS is the buffoon the GOP are proferring as a world leader. THIS is the pussy-grabbing bigot the so-called Christian right are calling chosen by God.
I can only imagine the festivities in the Putin camp tonight. Im sure the vodka is flowing, the full-bladdered hookers are ready to perform, and Trumps complete capitulation to their Dear Leader is being celebrated from one end of Russia to the other.
I think tonight is the night to sell Idiot Boy the Brooklyn Bridge for five hundred bucks, because hes obviously an easy mark as are his supporters. Just throw in a set of Ginzu knives, a Pocket Fisherman, and some wind-chimes - and you, too, can "close the deal".

(164 posts)The headline said "Trump Raises Election Meddling with Putin"
I had to do a double take, because I thought at first it said "Trump Praises Election Meddling with Putin".
Which is essentially, what I believe to have happened.

(51,593 posts)The Russian vs. US spin of they were saying to the public is the most important take away. This is what Richard Engel said last night on Rachel. He was more interested in what each country would report was said and not the actual truth (which of course we'll never know unless Melania does the leaking).

(53,061 posts)America has developed an impressive tolerance of low grade bull shit.
Most of us were fed up with this guy a decade ago but his cynical pivot on Birtherism was an open confession by Trump that he was willing to sell whatever ties he had to New York culture for pennies on the dollar.
When he got caught on the hot mic on the bus bragging about assaulting women I was sure that we had reached full capacity of the country's ability to assimilate low class red neck bull shitery but no, this country has found even more ability to choke down bs and not gag on it.
Simply stated we are going to need a lot more bridges.
