NYT just published in last few minute: Russian govt. sought to aid Trump's candidacy
Before mtg happened Jr. was told there would be compromising material offered about Hillary and was part of Russian govt. helping Trump. They have email to that effect. He absolutely knew why he was going

(7,633 posts)I understand they want to thoroughly investigate but at some point they need to go in and actually do something about it. There is already enough material for a dozen convictions given good prosecutors. This ranges from election fraud to money laundering, perjury, etc.. how much more do they need to start charging some of these guys and put the squeeze on them to uncover the rest ? That's what they did for Enron.

Mueller has access to info. from many countries.
It appears right now that all the evidence is being put in front of grand juries, which then produces indictments which then produces warrants.
these cases require a LOT of evidence because there are several layers of crimes.
Manafort has been talking to FBI, which is why, like Flynn, he filed the contact with foreign gov. forms.
Page has been talkiing, Flynn has been talking, and Kushner has been talking, he told FBI about the meeting that Don just confessed to.
The only layer above Kushner and Don is the Pres. and other WH cabinet people: Sessions, Bannon, Steve Miller, etc.
This is real fast progress, given the time frame of the crimes and the amount of evidence.
In just a little over 6 mos. the legitimacy of the WH pResident is in serious question.

(33,643 posts)What makes that 'illegal' as opposed to just shady and sketchy and morally repugnant to the concept of democracy and sovereignty?
I've been asking this question off and on for 6 months now ... nobody here on DU yet has pointed at The Law(s) Being Broken ... the one(s) that could send someone to prison.
Do YOU have any idea? I'd be pleased as punch to hear lemme tell ya ...

slamming on the brakes on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway Long Island Expressway.
The worst highway for that was The Belt Parkway near Kennedy Airport, 80 miles per hour
all around the turn, then Bam parking lot.

(33,643 posts)Oh, wait ... supposedly that was the fucking CRIME OF THE CENTURY ... regardless of her not understanding there was something wrong with it. Which I'm personally convinced she did NOT understand, legitimately.
Fortunately, of course, the GOP won't be TOTAL F-ING HYPOCRITES or anything like that ... they'll hold DTJr to the same standard they did Hillary cause you know, they're totally 'fair' and 'logically consistent' like that. LOL ...

(562 posts)On CNN, Mississippi's senator laughed it off and said the American people are not concerned about little mistakes Don Jr. made that amounted to nothing.
Now stop the distractions and let's get on with the business of the people.
