Keep in mind, along with a lot of this "fuck Trump" graffiti, some property owner receives a letter in the mail telling them to remove it at their expense or get fined for each day they don't.

painted on a residential garage door? I think not. What would be the point? I live on a street with almost no traffic at all. Graffiti is painted to be seen.

And, yes, it is often removed, or painted over, giving the graffiti artists a fresh canvas on which to work. I rarely see graffiti on residential single family homes, though. More public venues are usually the target.

I do have some railroad tracks near my home though. Freight cars are a very common canvas for graffiti. Some of it is very creative, too.

My graffiti days are over, now, however, and more's the pity. I have to leave that to younger people who can run faster. In my day, though...Back then, though, the target was Nixon, you understand.

The other three appear to be business or residential structures of some sort which means someone has to go out there and clean it up.

Graffiti is a temporary art form. Always. Graffiti is a political statement. Always. Of some sort, at least.

If I owned a building that was a likely target for graffiti, I would apply a finish to the exterior that allowed any graffiti to be washed off with a power washer. Such materials are readily available and widely used. The artist makes a statement and the property owner removes it when it is convenient to do so. In some cases, the owner waits until ordered to remove it, if the owner agrees with the expressed statement.

Which is what art was always meant to be. You may fool some of the people some of the time. But for the artist? She/he always sees you for what you truly are.
