Two possibilities: 1. Trump's lawyer is lying 2. Trump Sr. was expected to attend the meeting

Two possibilities:

1. Trump's lawyer is lying

2. Trump Sr. was expected to attend the meeting

********

Did Donald Trump’s lawyer accidentally make a huge confession about the meeting with the Russian lawyer?
Jay Sekulow suggested the Secret Service vetted the meeting, but Donald Trump Jr. was not being protected at that time.

Although the Secret Service is authorized to “make arrests without warrant for any offense against the United States committed in their presence,” the Secret Service’s protection detail is to provide for the physical safety of protectees. It is unclear why Sekulow would think their job would include stopping them from “nefarious” activities or ensuring the candidate or his team does not violate campaign finance laws.

***Unless*** the Secret Service thought that the senior Trump or Vladimir Putin himself was going to be at or very near the meeting, Sekulow’s claim that the Secret Service “allowed” the Russians in is what raises the real questions.

14. This indicates it was held within Rump's close security area,

revealing specifically, of course, that it was held where Rump could just stroll in if he wished.

The floors directly below Rump's suites, and anything above, would be kept empty, and the elevators that go to the close-security residence area would be part of it.

Sekulow just keeps making foolish mistake after mistake.

Wasn't this meeting the floor below tRump's?

Wouldn't the SS care who was coming in and out of the building?

Doesn't anyone follow the known Russians around?

No matter what Sekulow knows or reports, there has got to be more to this story. Yes, he's lying and slipped up. Simply from tRump's speeches it seems clear that tRump knew about "dirt on Hillary" and emails from the Russians, therefore he knew about this meeting and others.

3. Does The Secret Service Keep A Log Of Everyone....

that comes into the Trump Tower? Names, affiliation, who they are meeting with, time entered building, time left building, meeting location, etc.

Seems that would be the commonsense thing to do.

Would that log be available to the investigators to review?

Maybe reviewing it they could find other meetings with Russians.

7. It's a residential building. The desk staff would do sign ins and call residents or offices.

I'd assume Trump has a private gold plated elevator direct from his penthouse to his office and probably the Trump Organization floor, where little don and the princess have their offices. Eric too probably if they're in a good mood.

Secret Service might have been there to protect the President. Donald Jr. would not get the same treatment.

...Trump's lawyer is a moron, who doesn't know what he's talking about

...Trump's lawyer is throwing anything out there, no matter how ridiculous, to deflect and/or to see if anything sticks (PR-wise)
