the service was terrible. We switched to DirecTV and have been extremely happy with the service. 5 years+ and no loss of signal. Wish I could say that for our internet service.

In 2010, Malone reduced his stake in DirecTV from 24 percent to 3 percent, resigned as Chairman and ended his role in management of the company.

Did it occur to you to check the facts before you posted?

By the way, the President and CEO of Viacom, Philippe Dauman, made $43 million last year, a drop from the $80 plus million he was paid in 2010. The ratings of many of Viacom's program networks have been stagnant or dropping. But they're still demanding a significant increase in what DirecTV pays them for those networks, an increase that will end up coming out of subscribers pockets and, in part, going to help get Mr. Dauman back to a living wage of $60 million or so.
And you're defending them?

Where do you get yours. Oh wait, yours aren't "facts". The facts are that Liberty Media's controlling interest in DirecTV was transferred to a company called Liberty Entertainment which is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of DirecTV. In other words the 57 percent interest in DirecTV that Malone used to control is now completely out of his hands and is in the hands of DirecTV. Liberty Media's interest in DirecTV is zilch.

increase my monthly bill. Directv says, at the very least, let us pick and pay for what Viacom channels we want, which would be great for me, because of the 26 stations viacom owns,I only watch one (CC).

F Viacom and their greedy bs.

for certain shows folks really like. Currently it's Nickelodean/Daily Show customers that are getting screwed. This is not Direct TV - they are standing up to the bully Viacom so we don't get another $30/month added to our bills.

but I stand with DirecTV.

Viacom better get their sh*t together, and fast. I would like to see a hostile takeover of that stupid company, and dump all but CC/Nick and sell the other channels to other suckers.

channels, but I do watch LinkTV, Current and Free Speech. All on DirectTV for less than I was paying for CableVision with much greater reliability and choice.
