tomorrow so it will not be in the usual news cycle until Monday. On the other hand, Trump LOVES being in the news.

Firing Sessions tonight accomplishes nothing, since it will take weeks if not months to confirm a new attorney general. I think Trump has already gone through the chain of command to fire Mueller and has found someone willing to do it in the AG's office. He does not need to fire Sessions now. The only thing firing Sessions would eventually accomplish is having an AG willing to do Trump's bidding, and by then it will be too late.

First Rosenstein and if he refuses then the Solicitor General, the new Robert Bork (who fired Archbald Cox after Richardson and Ruckleshouse refused to do so and resigned).

Trump/Russia investigations because he helped right the letter that recommended firing Comey? Does that mean that Rosenstein would have to recuse from any intervention in Mueller's work?

NOW, Sessions is one simple ass moron.

But, he knows 45s play here is to have him resign so he can say he resigned and wash his hands of it.

That is what the NYTs interview as about, 45 could claim innocence, "I didn't fire him, I love him, he had been with me from day one. See, I didn't interfere in an investigation!" and his pods would eat that up.

Sessions sets himself up as a victim of, instead of a co-conspirator of, 45 if he is fired vs just resigning.

Weekend news cycle. Trump dropped the story that he was looking into pardons and Mueller's supposed "conflicts" for a reason - he had made up his mind to fire him and the sooner the better, before he could fully look into Trump's finances.
