Ford pardoned Nixon for anything he may have done while president.

Trump is likely to have commited crimes before he took office. If these surface during Mueller's investigation, I wonder how that would be handled. Would pence have to write the pardon to start when Donald Trump was born to cover it all ?

Besides, Presidents can only pardon people for federal crimes. Any crimes committed against state laws would not be affected, and the pardoned person could be prosecuted for them in any state which had laws violated.

I doubt that any President would issue a blanket pardon that covered anyone's entire life of crime. I have no doubt that Trump has broken many state laws, anyhow, so...

Any pardon of Trump from Pence would probably borrow language from Ford's pardon proclamation.

Trump is an abomination and a blight on our Democracy.

If he understands he will be hounded and gnawed at for the rest of his life with costly ongoing personal litigation unless he resigns and takes a 'precedential' pardon, I thnk he will go NOW! 'Settling' is his primary position after the bluff.

Deplorables will still get suckered by his brand. They'll never acknowledge what they did.

He could spend the rest of his retirement doing what he does best - basking in the idolatry of his followers and sycophants, and riding around at his golf courses.

He proved his one, single point.

Any shmuck with money and 'friends' can be president.

But, "Be careful what you ask for - you just may get it."
