I think the Sessions story came from Trump, but is a diversion, as they quietly make final plans.

Even if Sessions resigned today, it would take many months to get a new AG confirmed. That is a near certainty. Trump can't wait that long. By then, Mueller will have completed his work, and Trump and crew will be in the middle of a crisis that threatens their personal freedom.

The Session situation is a diversion set up by Trump. He has to fire Mueller soon. He can't wait for a new AG. He'll make the attempt, and that will happen in the near future. Almost everybody will be focused on Sessions, and almost everybody will at that time be assuming that the firing will come after the new AG is confirmed. Then, the surprise will hit. After that, there will be epic battles in court that will be analyzed for years.

However, all of that may, and probably will, be rendered moot when and if some truly devastating bombshells hit, especially if it is a series of them. I expect that to happen. What will be revealed will be so outrageous that a big majority of Americans will recoil in horror. Congress will have to act, and all of Trump's nonsense will quickly turn into nothing.

I still think they will flee the country when things look hopeless, rather than just stay in the US and allow themselves to be put in prison for decades (it would be a life sentence for Trump).

In fact, they're a regular tag team.

The idea that the controversy swirling around Sessions will divert anyone's attention from Mueller is just silly. Indeed, the apparent effort to oust Sessions has had the exact opposite effect and is focussing attention on Mueller and the entire investigation.

was the person who appointed him, and Mueller could only be fired for cause, this wouldn't be that easy. Trump would have to fire Rosenstein and then get someone else to fire Mueller.

We could be looking at another Saturday night massacre.

The SS Trump is going down like the Titanic and survivors are being determined...

If I were Jeffy Sessions, I would choose to stay as AG, wait my time and then testify and even cut some time for reduced sentence for testifying against Trump.

Jeffy might want to have lunch with John Dean and others for some advice....
