Trump is heading off for a long vacation, and so is Congress. That, however, doesn't mean that shenanigans won't be continuing. It's just that without being able to buttonhole House members and Senators or hear from the PINO, the media won't have easy access to people who know stuff.
It will be an ideal time for Trump to execute his staff reorganization and purging at the DOJ. Our government will be more or less incognito for about three weeks. Unseen, but far from inactive. Expect lots to happen, but less news about what is happening during that period.

(22,037 posts)His first six months in office have been somewhat less than successful, (wink). I doubt he'll turn a corner and become efficient in one month's time.
That said, I agree with you that we have to remain alert to Trump's band of miscreants.
Meanwhile, Robert Mueller's work continues...

(9,213 posts)Trump got up first thing this morning and started tweeting about Hillary's emails again. He can't NOT be in the news constantly.

(25,862 posts)it will be front and center in the news cycle as it happens. Purging and reorganization will hardly take place behind closed doors or without being reported on.
I also suppose it's not impossible for Congress to suddenly reconvene if he gets totally out of control.

(63,221 posts)He has done nothing but golf, tweet, watch TV and shove food down his pie hole. Oh yes, and a few rallies to remind himself of how much people worship him, but other than that he has done NOTHING. Signing Executive Orders with a big ass Sharpie is NOT work.

The real thing to worry about are the smart, devious, relentless Trumpists who with an never-ending supply of money can do great harm to institutions and good, and even not so good people.
I don't think even Stephen King's great story telling mind could have imagined this American nightmare.
