200 passengers stranded for 4 days after canceled flight

LAS VEGAS, NV (KVVU/CNN) - About 200 passengers were left stranded in Las Vegas Sunday night, after a flight to Oklahoma City was canceled.

The airline told the frustrated passengers it doesn't have another flight to put them on until Thursday.

What started as a fun trip ended in a travel nightmare.

"We are all just trapped here now at the airport in Las Vegas," passenger Alana Buckner said.

Mechanical problems stopped the Allegiant flight from Las Vegas to Oklahoma City, after just minutes on the runway.

"They asked us to deplane, we all got off of the plane, they gave us some soda and then said that they regretted to inform us that unfortunately there's no other flights until Thursday," Buckner said.

a) have enough money and/or credit to do so and b) can drive also the lady who was talking claimed there were no cars left.

Are often not available for one-way trips, and if they are they are very expensive. I was stranded once, and on a business trip so the cost didn't really bother me, and not a single agency had a car to rent.
Sleeping at an airport overnight has to be one of the circles of hell that Dante didn't notice.

Pretty much the only option unless someone wanted to charter buses. The airline should have done that for them.

Always end up boarding after a delay, then deboarding and waiting for replacement plane. the first one boarded is usually pretty new, while the replacement is past worn out. It has gotten way past coincidence.

That's an 18 hour drive.

And no other flight from Las Vegas to Oklahoma City for four days?

PS - just checked Travelocity - there are more than 20 flights a day from Las Vegas to Oklahoma City.
