epaulets and go all Gadafi, the first time he asks General Kelly to swat flies will be the end of his hopes and dreams of being surrounded by strong men.

'cause he's the commander in chief of the military. If he gets impeached and they try to remove him, the generals will save him........ Custer's last stand?..

he "respects Kelly" for his service and that he lost his son in Afghanistan. Funny how he didn't have respect for the Gold Star family Khan.. wonder why?

He's amazingly smart and has some level of self-introspection. He has recognized that white supremacy is a source of terror, but I think his policies at DHS are very troubling, and some of them racist.

I hate to say it but he might be the best we are going to do for right now. And that makes me sick.

He seems to be at least overtly religious. I'm not sure if you'd call it extremist like Pence is, I just don't know, but he was thanking God for giving him this opportunity to serve (Him). I've also read he's not too intelligent for a job like this that takes quick organization skills. He's probably just what Trump is looking for. I wouldn't put too much thought into covert activity possibilities.

Kelly is nothing but a 45 sycophant.

So if 45 is an extremist, Kelly will go anywhere
45 tells him too, no matter how extreme!

I really respect Barbara Lee, and I share her fears over Trump's dictatorial aspirations. But I don't think the Chief of Staff position is how he gets there. I think this appointment is more about running a tighter ship - as compared to Priebus, who Trump believes was undermining him.
