My late father-in-law (Jewish) was rejected the first time he applied the the University of Michigan Medical School in the early 1930's and was told to his face by whoever was head of either the medical school or whoever headed up admissions to the medical school, that "We already have too many of your kind."

He actually complained, and the President of the entire University didn't take kindly to that. The man who said that was fired and my father-in-law went to medical school.

This is the kind of bullshit that privileged white men whine about, saying jobs are being taken from them by unqualified minorities and women. You can especially see this side in the higher levels of business. Yeah, right. Nearly everyone in the executive suites is white and male. And quite frankly, if you can't make it on your own merit and talent, then, what can I say?
