editing to add:

A huge fire which engulfed part of a luxury hotel in Dubai, near where revellers had gathered to watch a New Year’s Eve fireworks display, has been brought under control without any fatalities.

The inferno lit up the side of the Address Downtown hotel near the centre of the city, scattering bystanders and shoppers in a nearby mall.

Makes you wonder about their building codes and safety inspections.

and yes, the first one pinned my irony meter. That's why the Grenfell fire looked so familiar, these UAE buildings (and yes, there have been more) are burning the same way, fire racing up the outside and raining burning debris down. However, they are more recent buildings, have fire sprinklers, and have multiple stairwell exits.

Dubai building authorities claim that exterior decks are fireproofed and that exterior fires haven't entered the buildings. I tend to doubt that since all it takes is a window shattered from heat to admit both smoke and fire to living quarters.

There's nothing at YouTube about a current fire. Last one was 4 months ago.
