Let's pretend Trump doesn't run for a second term on the Republican ticket (humor me here)

Any reason will do, from impeachment to quitting in a huff to his party ditches the ahole and nominates someone else.

What do you think are the chances that PINO runs as a third party... the TRUMP party, of course? And if so, he could win with a sliver of a plurality against an establishment R and a Democrat of any persuasion? And then what? Gutterdämmerung?

This scenario has gotten under my skin.

Yes, exactly. He'd only steal certain votes from a Republican candidate - NOT a dem candidate. anneboleyn Aug 2017 #7

It is too far beyond belief - so I can't even wrap my head around any scenario ahead.

You can find me in the garden!

wouldn't win either. Voters that voted Democratic in 2016 wouldn't switch to Trump and
the Independents wouldn't show up in larger numbers and vote for Trump. He wouldn't even
get all the voters who supported him in 2016 back.

If he resigns first, no he won't run again. But I don't think he will.

If he is impeached and removed, then it's 50/50, but I'd gamble on him not running if impeached.

If he is simply "de-selected", or the Republicans have a primary and someone beats him then yes he will go independent.

He could also quit the Republicans and register as a Democrat in 2019.

Who knows with this guy? He's nuts!

How, may I ask will he make it through the indictments that will surely come soon? I do not understand people thinking he could still be here as President until 2018. That is the thinking that he is normal, HE IS NOT!
