So many (media, pundits, people in general) seemed to think his appointment would mark a turning point and improve WH operations, but I've had reservations all along based on his tenure at DHS.

He is used to following orders! There is little excuse for his support of the Muslim ban, his many apologies for Trumps actions, and aggressive (competent) execution of the agenda given to him.
