So I get a call from a Marine recruiter...

asking about my son, and if he's considering a career in the military. I explain that he's not eligible due to a neurodevelopment disorder, and he tells me about his son who has Aspergers. We have a friendly visit, about others in our families who've served, especially during war time, and he comments that my and my husband's family have given much in service already. He asked if I knew anyone I could refer to him.

"Have you guys called the Trump family? I'm pretty sure not a single soul in that family has given a minute to serving in the Armed Forces." Then I laughed a little. His response floored me:

"Oh, I'm sure the younger Trump family is hearing it every day. The Secret Service is the agency that protects the first family, but it's the Marines who guard them. It's military helocopters and pilots flying them everywhere, and Marines guarding the WH and any US embassy they visit."

Maybe Tiffany, who is of recruiting age, will consider serving in a branch of the Armed Forces.

45 won't let any of his kids serve anywhere including inside NORAD. That's for poor people to do! Not us important rich folks!

encourage anyone to join the military at this point in time. With a President who is bat shit crazy and under Federal investigation, he would be capable to starting a war to try to draw attention away from himself and his family. That would not be valid use of our forces. We have a Republican controlled Congress who has protected the idiot far too much. The children of the 99% should not be made into "cannon fodder" by the Republicans, 1%ers and MIC. We do not have the leadership that took us throuh Pearl Harbor and WWII in the WH today.

My 18 year old was talking to a Marine recruiter. There was a paper that he needed signed by his mother due to a medical situation a few years back. My wife wanted to discuss things with the son before signing (like if he really wants to enlist or if he should go to college first.) The recruiter was pushing him hard to sign and finally told him "Just forge your mom's signature if you want to enlist." Well we have a good kid. He told them basically to F off and was shocked they would ask him to do that. He is now enlisting into the Air Force.

That recruiter could end up in the brig for that, probably for even suggesting it. Could even end up with a General Discharge. Not an auspicious way to end a career.

I'm glad he found a place in the AF.
