Distract him with a shiny object

By Eugene Robinson
August 10 at 6:25 PM

This is what we dreaded. Some international crisis was bound to flare up, and President Trump would make it worse. Now we can only hope that the mature adults surrounding him are able to cool things down.

Trump probably thought it was oh-so-clever to answer North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s nuclear provocations with a taste of the dictator’s own apocalyptic language, threatening “fire and fury like the world has never seen.” It sounded like a playground taunt, reflecting the president’s emotional immaturity. On Thursday, Trump said that maybe those words weren’t “tough enough.” Soon these two nuclear-armed leaders may be trading insults about the size of each other’s hands.

The “fire and fury” line was “improvised,” meaning Trump failed to warn anyone about it beforehand — not Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, not Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, not Chief of Staff John F. Kelly, not national security adviser H.R. McMaster, not U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley. Wish these five officials well, because they stand between us and unthinkable disaster ...

Dealing with this crisis will require patience and realism, both of which Trump totally lacks ...

And Robinson, once again, hits the nail on the head. But that no longer helps us. Media outrage has become mostly impotent no matter how on target. All it does is spawn grade school Twitter-sputtering cretinism.

Our country has lost its way to an oafish ignoramus who is amazingly out of sane control and surrounded by asskissing, spineless toads or hateful creeps who have been breed on ugliness and singular, unconscionable, despicable greed and poster boys for man's inhumanity towards man. ( women no longer matter, period)

Yeah, choir preaching, I know. Most people walking around life have developed this zombie like denial that we are in this gut gripping state of WTF.

How we got here is no longer of any consequence or apparent meaning. We are here. How we literally survive this chaotic nightmare of abject stupidity, twisted narcissism and enabled, gross incompetence, is.

How, when and even will we prevail?

Every day are we really getting closer? Sometimes it seems like the next headline WILL be the one that starts to save us by ridding our nation of this Cretin and his boob mob.
Then reality smacks us awake for another destructive, soul crushing display of unfathomable STUPID from this " spooge" regime...and the putrid Republican bilge surrounding it.

Which is worse, the sleeping nightmares or the waking nightmare?

Sanity, please prevail SOON!!!!!!
