Of all the calls to refuse! Maduro might have been calling for help, for all we know. Now, when he calls Putin instead, and Russia has a naval base on the northern coast of South America in three years, maybe Trump will realize his error. But I doubt it.

Unless blind and deaf (and still!), hard to miss the point

Doesn't cost anything to talk. If Trump fancies himself as this great deal maker, why would he bypass such a golden opportunity to be the man of the hour and chalk up another "win"? On the other hand, if he thought Maduro would upstage him and look less crazy, he was probably to scared to talk.
