OTOH, Charlottesville is being held hostage to outside forces. This is NOT the city, not the residents, not the businesses, not UVA.

One of the goals of the ALT Right repeatedly coming to Charlottesville is to brand it as the Southern American Munich, a recognized hub of hate. I would have expected this of Montgomery, Alabama. To the contrary, Charlottesville is quite liberal.

What's missing: local and state representatives coming to C-ville to publicly decry these events.
