"This 'old white people' business does get a little tired, Charlie," King said. "I'd ask you to go back through history and figure out, where are these contributions that have been made by these other categories of people that you're talking about, where did any other subgroup of people contribute more to civilization?"

He still won't do anything about Bannon, Gorka, Miller and all the other nazis in trumps admin.

I think Painter will work behind the scenes though through the Republican establishment, which trump is not a part of.

Someone needs to tell him that his fellow republicans don't agree with him.

Otherwise, why pander to racists all those years? And the GOP has pandered to them for years and years.

The GOP doesn't get to proclaim their innocence now.

That said, Painter did seem outraged and I believe he really is.

I'm afraid the hate and racism is now too entrenched and embedded in the Repub party. This isn't your father's Republican Party anymore. They're now openly carrying confederate flags and wearing T-shirts emblazoned with swastikas.
This is tRump/Bannon

These types are the hardcore fascist traitors and the religious right, the 30% that will never turn their backs on fuhrer Dump no matter what he does.

The ones that are demanding an all out nuclear war against NK.

The Nazis marching in Virginia. They have declared war on all republicans not willing to sell out America to worldwide fascism.

Eight years ago I didn’t know any racists. Now they’re everywhere. Obama created them through White suppression.

Just the kind of stuff that Obama was trying to fuel. The antichrist was sowing seeds of "ethnos rising against ethnos". He knew exactly what he was doing. Thinks he's clever. Hrrmpf. God knows what he was doing alright. Obama wanted nothing less than to set the USA on fire.

He said what is happening is entirely what Bannon wants and has openly declared: "The destruction of the state".

and all the other alt-right people in the administration should be thrown out.

I think Mr. Painter is fighting an uphill battle to save the Republican Party. Some "ethical" Republicans like him have already abandoned the party as a lost cause.

Painter was the chief White House ethics lawyer in the George W. Bush administration from 2005–2007. Since January 2017, he has been involved in the CREW lawsuit against President Donald Trump (CREW v. Trump). The suit alleges that Trump is in violation of the U.S. Constitution's emoluments clause, due to his refusal to sell assets and put others in a blind trust.

MANY Republicans should have spoken out long before this. Trump is in the White House because they failed to condemn bigotry of all kinds. They were silent when Trump promised the Deplorables (actually that term is too kind for them) that he'd make their bail if they attacked people protesting at his rallies.

And now, because of that, we have Charlottesville.
