The car was going way way way over the speed limit, hit a crowd of protesters + other cars and threw itself into reverse, sped the fuck away

I got that completely wrong. Someone wasn't content with just hate speech. He wanted to hurt some people. Trump's true allies.

And though he didn't end up shooting someone on 5th avenue, he'll still not lose one supporter over this.
