Please keep in mind there's a reason Charlottesville was targeted. Most of the alt-right protesters

are NOT from Charlottesville.

They are outsiders who are protesting the City Council's vote to remove Robert E. Lee's statute from a city park, and to change the name of "Lee Park" to "Emancipation Park" -- at a cost of $700K. A significant expense for a city of this size.

They will also be removing a statue of Stonewall Jackson and renaming that park "Justice Park."

Hillary carried Charlottesville by 80.4% vs. 13.3 for the orange one.

Removing the statues of Lee and Jackson will not come cheap. In October 2016, Richmond.com reported that city staff estimate that it will cost $330,000 to remove the Lee statue and $370,000 to remove the Jackson one.

the removal for 6 months.

Both statutes are on the National Register of Historic Places. I don't know if that factor has affected their removal.

I'm guessing that that makes their removal more complicated.
