Trump: "we must cherish our history"

My administration is restoring the sacred bonds of loyalty between this nation and its citizens, but our citizens must also restore the bonds of trust and loyalty between one another. We must love each other, respect each other, and cherish our history and our future together. So important. We have to respect each other. Ideally, we have to love each other.

What can cherishing our history have to do with the events at Charlottesville, other than the removal of the Lee statue? I.e., when he says there is blame on "all sides", he means that some of the blame belongs to the people who got the statue removed.

As a tangent, has anyone noted that the "General Lee" in the Dukes of Hazzard was a Dodge Charger?

Don't get what the meaning is of his phrase "sacred bonds of loyalty " refers to either, but I'm not up on the alt-right code phrases

Like you, I don't speak Bannon. I don't understand it at any level. Who broke the bonds, Obama? And how is he restoring them?

Trump is talking about agreeing with the Alt Right and the whole reason they were marching. This was about them marching in support of Robert E Lee's status remaining.
