It should be clear to all these people are racist and anti-American. No more false equivalency.

(31,121 posts)NEVER use that term again, there is no alt-right, there are republicans and there are neo-nazi's
Each republican now must choose, the neo-nazi aka Trump branch of the GOP or the republican branch of the GOP.
I get why we still use it, so we correctly identify them, but I say we switch to the proper term.

(17,984 posts)The implication that they are somehow new and improved is misleading. Plus, it puts distance between them and Hitler's Nazis. This is unfair when they read the same propaganda the original Nazis read, dress in similar fashion, have the same haircuts, and want to accomplish the same goals. They represent the same old bullshit. There is nothing new about them.

There is absolutely zero excuse anyone can make who participated in those marches. Even if they were your average conservative Republican who drove from another state, they would have known immediately what they were participating in. You had large groups of people wearing Swazikas and other KKK and Nazi outfits. You had racist chants. And you had heavily armed people committing acts of violence. This was clear from the start, anyone who chose to still participate knew exactly what they were getting into.
I imagine there were some decent Republicans who showed up, looked around, and said "Whoa" this is not what I want to be a part of and got back into their cars and drove home. But even then, they had to know by the emails they got from organizers what this was all about.
And I can't believe the news media hasn't made a bigger deal out of their Trump uniforms of Kakis and a White polo. It seems that would be a huge deal the media would want to cover. They dressed up exactly like their leader for a reason, because he inspires them.
