Peaceful protesting.
antifa is the opposite of that.
Am I wrong?

(27,172 posts)I myself am in favor of them. They are necessary because fascists want to hurt people who are peaceful.
Maybe it's because I know I'm a target that I feel the way I do.
But I always shake their hands when I see them and thank them for being there.

(34,125 posts)it has worked in the past but is much more difficult now I think.
It takes a lot of control to stand there or lay down when the going gets rough, a lot more than I ever believed until I had to do it.

(35,091 posts)It's more of a movement than an organization, the far right is at war with us though, and we need to fight back because it's no fringe anymore, certainly not with violence, but if our involvement with the political sphere begins and ends with one day in November every other year, then we are fools. We need to destroy, yes destroy, the tropes and cliches that the right wing uses, we need to defund their organizations, we need to defend the people they consider fair game, and we need to discredit their leaders. No, not with violence, but yes, with every other way in the book.
Because of this... I am Antifa.

(31,533 posts)engaging violent acts. Are these really antifa? Is the media only focusing on a few random acts?
I've always favored peaceful protest, as well. I have seen in my lifetime several causes that were successful with non violent methods, such as civil rights, women's rights and gay rights. Not that violence wasn't directed at the protesters, but the goal was to achieve those rights through non-violence.

(811 posts)Antifa are scum who are trying to use liberal naivete to their advantage.
We need to drive them way.
Peaceful protest works. Violence (Antifa's bag) only helps the Nazis.
