It could be his plan. But I think it will backfire. Not because the GOP will turn on him but because they are so divided. Maybe some will but not counting on that. But the resistance will have to continue to tear him to shreds.

the whole idea behind alt right is a strategy to convert GOP into white supremacy alt right by going primary after primary. They tried going after paul ryan, mccain and others and they still handidly won their primaries so it's a limited strategy. This is really about normalizing racism and increasing alt right population.
It's a short and long term concerted effort that includes De Vos (dismantling public education), Sessions (suspending civil rights), more importanty saturating all circuit courts with loyal federal judges for life (most cases never reach SC), race tensions across the nation, accelerating inequality, etc.

The reality is that most GOP are white nationalist sympathizers based on their policy proposals; they just won't say it opently for political reasons. And now they don't have to, trump will do it for them.

But first you have to get the minorities to riot, so for that you need lots of brownshirts .....
