Looking for one honest statesman....

Like Diogenes looking for one honest man, our country needs one person, one statesman, to speak up and defend our country from this scourge that has descended upon it.

We need a statesman that can unite this country with one voice. We are not a perfect nation but we have striven to make our country more equal and more fair for all our citizens. Some might argue that we have failed miserably? I can only say, we tried.

The journey ahead may be long and difficult? But we should march together, shoulder to shoulder, with the understanding that we are all created equal, and none is superior to the other. Only with equality can we march forward.

America has survived many tough struggles. Washington spent the cold winters in a tent at Valley Forge, fighting for our freedom from the British empire. Lincoln prayed and suffered as brother fought against brother in our most difficult struggle. FDR joined with our allies to defeat the largest threat to world peace in our time, Adolph Hitler and the Third Reich.

But, we survived. We stood together then and we will stand together now. We are a better people than the image now presented to the world for viewing.

Can we hope for that lone statesman to step forth? That can bring our divided nation together? Our hearts will guide us to the future. If our hearts are pure, the future will be clear. If our hearts are troubled, the future will be cloudy. United we stand - divided we fall.
