That's why they aren't doing it. Even though his approval ratings nationally are in the mid '30s, in many districts it's still in the '80s. GOP Congressmutants in those districts will not risk losing or alienating those voters, many of whom still believe the sun shines out of Trump's ass.

Senators and representatives, especially representatives, campaign on local issues. Candidates in red states will probably find it sufficient to simply evade positions on Trump and use the cynical tactic of concentrating on matters that directly concern their selfish voters.

If they fail to repudiate Trump, they own Trump's views. Let them consider that.
