Wall them off, completely enclose them, charge $20/person to see one with 100% of the money going to civil rights groups.
My bet is you would collect $40 - $60/year total. Nation wide.
Yeahhhhhhh...uhhhhmmm...art. That's what it is.

(31,464 posts)That said, I've no problem with attempting to fence it in and charging money to see it -- provided it is presented in proper historical context. You may not like its message, but that doesn't mean it's not art.

(31,464 posts)Partly my point. How do you do it? I guess it's like Mt. Rushmore. You can view it from afar, or if you're really interested you can go to the visitor center/museum and see it up close. Doesn't matter -- like the Ark in Kentucky, it'll never see a dime from me.

(37,748 posts)Great thing about art is that anyone can call anything art... regardless of whether they are correct or not. But calling it such doesn't mean it actually is.

(31,464 posts)It took incredible talent and skill, and it's execution is quite beautiful. You can disagree with the subject matter all you want, but I don't see how that makes it not artistic. Are the great paintings of Christ's Crucifixion terrible because we don't like Christ being crucified? Is "The Rape of the Sabines" a bad painting because it's about rape? How can you call this a bad painting, even if the subject matter offends you?
