What if he said "both sides were bad" with respect to World War II?

What if he said something like:

"Sure, the Nazis were bad during WWII, but the Allies side was bad too. I mean the Americans killed a lot of Germans. A LOT of Germans. Should they not get some blame for that?"

I am searching for a way to try to get people who don't get it to finally get it.
