At this point, I'll be very surprised if Trump doesn't pardon Arpaio.

Given his continued efforts to send out "I'm still cool with you if you're still cool with me" to the alt-right/white supremacist crowd, the throwback reference to the horrific Pershing myth, and everything else, why wouldn't he pardon the guy convicted for contempt because he refused to stop illegally profiling Hispanics?

Why else would he decide to go to Phoenix in the middle of August like that?

He's going to pardon him and it will be just one more unsubtle fuck you to everything decent, because that's who he is.

Our side needs to take political advantage of this when it happens, emphasizing that Arpaio was found in criminal contempt. And we need to directly tie Trump to Nazis through this story.

Would be a middle finger to decent americans (the evil liberals in their eyes), grandstand move at Phoenix rally, it is something that the middle 1/3 will have clue about, so they are not likely to suffer any kind of significant blowback except the media whore who enable him doing their pearl clutching ...

This is as much a play for applause and adoration than anything else.

Hell donit on stage and then there will be articles about how it's really not official because he hasn't done the paperwork like the LGBT ban.
