'My life is over': 21-year-old Charlottesville marcher whines over 'outing' by anti-fascist group

DAVID FERGUSON
18 AUG 2017 AT 11:53 ET

A 21-year-old Honeoye Falls, NY man was outed as a white supremacist after photos of him marching in Charlottesville, VA circulated online.

According to the Livingston County News, Jerrod Kuhn was filmed on Friday and Saturday last week by a BBC documentary crew as he carried a torch on the University of Virginia campus and chanted Nazi slogans and marched with the KKK and neo-Nazis the following day.

Rochester, NY-based group called Eastside Antifascists took still images of Kuhn and distributed 250 fliers bearing his photo throughout the Honeoye Falls area with the slogan, “No Nazis in our neighborhood.” The fliers explained that Kuhn is a participant and prolific poster at neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer, “an avowedly neo-Nazi website around which local groups have been organizing to promote anti-Semitism, white supremacy and violence against LGBTQ communities.”

Kuhn says he’s not a racist, but that he traveled the nearly 500 miles from Honeoye Falls to Charlottesville to protest the removal of a Confederate monument to Gen. Robert E. Lee from Charlottesville’s Emancipation Park. “It’s a piece of history, and I thought that it should remain,” Kuhn said. “It’s important to me that we preserve American history no matter how ugly the past is it’s associated with.”

Anti-Communist Action

A group whose name is an inversion of Anti-Racist Action (ARA), the first and historically largest (at one time) decentralized network of anti-racist and anti-fascist dedicated to confronting the far-right and disrupting their events and rallies through direct action, including violence.

The black and yellow colors refer to libertarianism, typically depicted on web forums under a black and yellow banner. Variations of the flag often feature helicopters dropping a figure from the sky, a reference to Augusto Pinochet’s brutal tactics of suppressing dissent.

He should have considered the repercussions when he decided to travel all the way from NY to march with Nazis. "Protesting the removal of the statue to preserve history," my ass. If you're honestly just protesting the removal of a statue you're holding a sign that says "Save Our Statue!" instead of marching in a Nazi parade.

You know something, Jerrod? I don't fucking care how you characterize yourself. You can say you're not a whiny ass titty baby, too, but that's not true either. You're a Nazi marching with other Nazis for Nazi causes. That makes you a racist, period.

about protecting history.

This dude was obviously involved in some hardcore racist groups to even know about the rally. And to spend the time and money to travel hundreds of miles to attend.

No matter what these people will say they are racist even of they are shouting out antisemitic slogans, the n word, and believe blacks are subhuman. They will never just say they are racist.

I don't like to see the families brought into this. Certainly, any family can have individual members that do horrible things.

The father of one of the Nazis disowned his son earlier this week. Unless family members individually have done something to warrant being outted, etc., I don't think it's appropriate to go after family members.

Certainly NOT okay that the Heyer family has received threats. I understand it is the assholes that are doing this.

their backs (and they still do, truth be told), so naturally they're shocked to learn that THIS time, walking around the country as an overt racist was a bad idea. Just because there were no consequences in the past for such actions didn't mean there wouldn't be consequences eventually.

You know what, I'm happy your life is ruined at 21. I'm happy for any racist life being ruined at any age. Perhaps the solution is for all of the racists to move to a colony in Montana or Wyoming where they can lead meaningful racist lives together. Let em band together. I give them 3 years before they grow absolutely sick of each other. Let their hatred eat them alive. The world has better things to spend its time on than worrying about or reclaiming these fuckin deplorables.

Trump was unintentionally responsible for that, too, by making excuses for the white supremacy groups, which made sure everything he said would be in the news.

who coulda predicted that we ARE having a civil war now, resulting the removal of many, if not most,
monuments to the previous Civil War.
Hell of a big and surprising deal, to me.
