He can't walk away from the adulation.
Let's face it, of the 33% or so that still support him maybe 20% is those that believe in him.
The rest are GOPers who just won't turn on a Republiscum President.
You don't win just appealing to the right wing base Trump has.
But without them there are no rallies with thousands of cheering people.
And Trump would rather have that than do something that brings the country together but alienates his white supremacist base.
So he buys in to the loathsome and invalid arguments of the racists.
We know he doesn't give a rats ass about Confederate monuments.
It is always about him, and it's always about what he needs now.
