Why cant white supremacists confront the fact that the source of their economic problems are white

economic elites

1. Manufacturing has mostly vanished. Notwithstanding Trump’s announcements that a few companies based overseas are returning, factory jobs have largely disappeared from the interior of America, where from World War II through the 1980s they anchored cities and counties.

2. Many cities have fallen into decline. Starting after WWII, the government and industry promoted suburbia, abandoning scores of cities to the mostly non-white poor. Detroit’s carmakers bought and dismantled public transit. That led to today’s costly transportation needs with a nation of commuters paying a lot for private vehicles, gas and insurance and spending hours away from home.

3. Health care costs have left wages frozen. Average wages have not seen increases, after being adjusted for inflation, for decades. A big part of the reason is businesses that provide health insurance have to keep paying more to insurers rather than employees. Meanwhile, insurers keep finding ways to draw on what’s left in people’s pockets.

4. Public education is vastly underfunded. Suburban schools in wealthy enclaves might be fine, but nationally half of high school graduates are not at the same level as graduates of other countries and their better achieving peers. That forecloses opportunity.

When blaming the "other" for everything is a way of life, it doesn't really encourage much accountability.

They think their protests can actually cause their target groups to leave ir at least shut up. Of course, the oligarchs have always encouraged racism among the 99%. Heaven forbid we should all get along. Then we might band together, break out the pitchforks and come after THEM.

..of the "night of long knives", but why would we expect them to know any history?

These brown shirt wannabe's will just be cannon fodder , should this hateful agenda become successful.

Even that ****sucker Bannon said that the right wing fringe were a bunch of clowns.

They are all being used, and loving it all in their ignorance.

The knives would come out, and the Elite uniforms will be tailored.

They have no use for these clowns, other than a means to an end.

Watch any documentary about them and listen closely: these people are scared shitless of everything.

The Vice doc from last weekend? Guy had three concealed pistols (and at times a rifle). I'm pretty anti-gun, but a reasonable argument can be made for carrying a concealed weapon. But three? That's both wimpy and crazy.

Establishment Republicans will continue their dog whistles fully intended to stir up their hate and anger because it serves their purposes. Since so few others in the GOP fail to call bullshit, there's really no reason for them to stop, especially when fakestream media outlets like Faux and Brietbart are doing their dirty work for them.

That didn't look like a down and out crowd to me. Also a CC analysts says today's white supremacist are more affluent than in the past. Bannnon is very wealthy. You can't chock that up to economic despair.

It's easier for people to grab on to a simple explanation than consider that the problem may be far more insidious.

"In America, we are culturally conditioned to believe that white is superior, black is inferior, and the manifestation of that cultural conditioning is that blacks are undervalued, underestimated, and marginalized."

And as LBJ said (to the young Bill Moyers) -

"I'll tell you what's at the bottom of it," he said. "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

These people will never accept that another "white" would be so cold as to either directly or indirectly, do them in. It is always someone else's fault. Their self-definition is hierarchical, with "appearance" (color) being the obvious first and supreme impression, followed by ethnicity, and then culture (to include any religion if practicing)... where economic class is down further on their list. If they are not "rich", then that is because "someone else" is taking from them or keeping them down, and it can't possibly be "one of their own".

This is their "cognitive dissonance".

If they had been in a completely homogeneous environment ("all white" ), then they will drop down to the next level and lay the "blame" based on "ethnicity" (you see that with English vs Irish vs Welsh), but still not "class".

It's been the hardest thing for many of us POC to get white liberals/progressives to understand and accept.
