(19,118 posts)Knowing Trump, of all the things this week, the CEOs ditching him had to be by far the worst for him.

(36,116 posts)As three other advisory boards disband following the presidents response to the Virginia violence, Jerry Falwell Jr tweets support for Trump
Donald Trump was forced to disband two business advisory councils and an infrastructure panel after some of Americas most prominent business leaders fled their posts, protesting against Trumps statements appeasing white nationalist marchers at the weekend rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
But the presidents religious evangelical advisory board, a mix of radical born-again preachers, televangelists and conservative political influencers, still stands almost intact. Not only have members avoided criticism of the president, while occasionally scolding the violence in general some have been openly supportive of Trumps statements assigning blame on many sides and slamming those who turned up to oppose the militant neo-Nazis.

(2,495 posts)This is one guy, not a "they", and it appears he had broke off the arrangement months ago and just used this a good opportunity to make it official. I'll be glad if we see more follow his lead, but I also won't be holding my breath for a wave of morals to come sweeping through the evangelical leaders.

Holy shit. It would be a good time for Melania to file for divorce.

(28,270 posts)After all the business people left for moral reasons it's about time to see a pastor do the same.
Of course they all should but...

(14,494 posts)Listening was not in the deal. They just got a free all-expense paid trip to DC every so often, and lots of kudos from their congregations. Hence, more in the offering plates at home, LOL.
