They will be munching on their victimhood turd now. How oppressed they are! How unfair it is! "It's worse than we thought!" they will say, so their actions and responses will now be more violent, more hateful.
If you are hoping or expecting them to slink back under their rock, don't. We need to be in this resistance for the long haul, because there is no end in sight right now.

(51,129 posts)They already kicked off a major backlash revolution of love and tolerance, tearing down hatred and its symbols, and they kbnow it.
So, as one of the great global leaders of all time said, "Please proceed." Because the backlash will be exponential and they will only further marginalize themselves and show everyone how fucked up they really are and how racist Trump is too.

(4,103 posts)They're starting to see their lives are not miraculously getting better because Trump is being an asshole to people with darker skin than theirs, and their alt.right movement is nothing but an internet movement, in real life it has not power or influence.

(9,313 posts)I would love to see efforts to turn every hate group rally into a VERY visible fund raiser for an anti-hate cause, as the town of Wunsiedel has been doing the past few years (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/17/opinion/how-to-make-fun-of-nazis.html) Perhaps it's not possible to "herd the cats" to make it a success in larger cities, but wouldn't it be wonderful to meet the hateful attendees with a giant fund raising thermometer and signs proclaiming how much they were raising for anti-hate causes by showing up? I would love to join with others to cheer and congratulate the hateful attendees for their enormous show of support for anti-hate causes.
Boston Pledge Against Hate (https://pledgeit.org/nobostonhate) was a great start, but I didn't see anything at the rally that would let the haters at the rally know that each and every one of them was personally responsible for raising over $800 anti-hate bucks (for a total of about $80,000).

We know we have to keep resisting as well as holding the local police accountable for their inaction in any situation.

(7,963 posts)We are bolder and more determined. People aren't going to fade into the night. If anything, they have made us more vigilent. Wherever they go, we will be there to remind them that they are just a drop in a bucket. Love, tolerance, and inclusion will always prevail.
