I heard true courage on NPR this morning - interview with Robert Lee, 24 year old pastor whose

uncle is Robert E Lee.

He believes in removing the confederate statues - claims they are just worship of idols (forbidden in the bible) - he risks (and experiences) splits within the large Lee family, and he and his family are receiving death threats. He is speaking out against what is going on from the pulpit.

It is going to take great courage - and involvement of all of us - to put an end to the madness.

this is he.

It was a compelling interview, on weekend morning edition. Give it a listen - the link in which the audio should appear later today is here

Although I believe that making this a debate about the statues is a huge (and intentional) distraction, I am always a fan of those who recognize and highlight hypocrisy.
