Thanks I was suprised I got so many answers about where you will be during the eclipse

For those who will be in the path of totality-what town or place will you be in? Did you travel to get there or are you lucky enough to be in the path of totality where you live?

facing a popular wild-life wetland area. I am not in the totality zone, but should see about 96-97% coverage.

Leaving my hiking buddy (my gorgeous doggy girl) at home, though. Can't risk her lovely eyes.

Dogs have a basic reflex and instinct not to look at the sun, and an eclipse is no different. She will be fine to take along.

Normally, you are right... they would ignore the sun... but people-oriented pets may well look up to see what gatherings of people are directing themselves to.

Just can't take the chance...

All the towns close (4 hour drive) to Denver are expected to be packed tonight. We found a small community (population 234, sa-lute!) that should have a gas station with restrooms. It's about 9 miles north of eclipse center line (thanks, Google Earth!) which cuts 6 seconds off totality. Just us and the cows (I hope they've gotten their glasses already).
