Rush Limbaugh has been pointing out to his listeners for the last few days that the "membership" in the KKK was only 200,000, at the most. He was making the point that they had little influence on the Republican Party, as far as voting goes.
But, he over-looked and failed to point out that these "alt-right" voters are now the base of the Republican Party, and even though they may not be "members" of the KKK or the "white supremacists, they are mostly supportive of their goals and mostly endorse their agenda.
This is the Republican Party. Some polls showed that Donald Trump's approval numbers went up after his racist comments in support of the white supremacists and the KKK. There was only one reason that happened. The present Republican Party supports their base.

And they are FAR worse on African Americans, quantitatively, than Jim Crow ever could dream of. Keep in mind there are more African Americans in prison than were slaves at any one time, which is damn near 100% GOP policy.
