I just heard something from MSNBC to the effect that in the recent time frame (not sure what that was), Repubs have raised 3 or 4 times more than Dems. Sorry, can't give the exact show, as hubby was clicking through videos on msnbc.com.
Is this true?
The guy being interviewed said something about Dems getting the staff together, and that would change... Not reassuring. Puzzling!!!
I heard the same thing today.. July was a horrible month for fundraising by the DNC, and the RNC raised almost 4 times as much. This is not giving me a good feeling.

(153,160 posts)yet even with voter suppression, help from Russia AND the FBI, and and massive free publicity / propaganda for that buffoonish piece of orange shit, Hillary STILL won the popular vote

(819 posts)we are talking about fund raising post election. Look at the numbers from this summer. DNC fund raising is down. I hope some changes are made to fix things.

I see. Yeah I agree with you. We dont need to abandon identity politics because some out there think it's a losing strategy. If anything, we need to embrace it even more now, than ever.

(25,704 posts)No, too much of the sexism and racism, even in our own party, is either ignored or in some cases celebrated.

(37,748 posts)Which is akin to saying "I'll use the adjective when the noun is correct."
But as you implied, you'll use whichever grammar mistakes your want and defend their usage as rational...

(18,262 posts)Democrat is a noun.
Democratic is the adjective form.
Democrats generally know that.
Funtatlaguy
(10,876 posts)Most Democrats consider it an insult as well as being factually and grammatically incorrect.
We are Democrats that belong to the Democratic Party.

(18,262 posts)We're always working on fundraising. Anyone who can afford it should donate. Anyone who has the time should volunteer.
I've found it to be more productive than alternately typing up alarmed comments and wringing one's hands.

(4,377 posts)Trump should be an absolute gift for the party fundraising efforts. If the Republicans are raising more than us (by more than 3 times!!) then whoever is coordinating DNC fundraising needs a giant kick up the ass. We can't go into 2018 without the resources to run a proper campaign, it would be ridiculous and totally irresponsible.

(18,262 posts)All Democratic caucus leaders should be out there working as hard as she does to bring in funds for the midterm elections. No wonder Republicans want her out.

(41,984 posts)The RNC have raised about twice as much and have more in reserve according to this article, BUT
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) raised twice as much as its Republican counterpart did in July, with the two sides stockpiling cash for the 2018 midterm fight for the House majority.
The DCCC raised $6.3 million last month, compared to the $3.8 million brought in by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).
The two committees are in about the same financial shape overall the Democratic group has raised $66.2 million this year compared to the $63.9 million raised by the NRCC. But while the DCCC has outraised the NRCC over each of the past three months, the NRCC has about $12 million more in cash on hand.
The NRCC filed its monthly campaign finance report on Sunday, while the DCCC filed its report last week.
Both parties are fundraising intently ahead of the 2018 midterms, with Democrats confident that President Trumps sagging favorability and historic trends have already put the House in play.
